Start the conversation
Our mission is to make sure no business ever has to learn the hard way when it comes to talent. Whether you are looking to build the right structure, find the right people or develop the right leaders, Spencer & Trent is the partner that helps you get it right from the start.
Most businesses don’t have a people problem, they have a strategy problem.
A CFO once looked at me across the table and said: “We just lost another one. Third this year.” I asked the question nobody else in the room was asking: do you know why? That question changed everything.
After years working across FTSE 100 companies, startups and SMEs, I kept seeing the same pattern. Talented people leaving for avoidable reasons. Employment law risks nobody had anticipated and executives solving the wrong problem entirely. Spencer & Trent was built because that pattern needed to stop.
As a neurodivergent Black woman I bring a perspective that has been missing from most boardroom conversations about talent. I have sat on both sides of the table. I know what employers miss and what employees will not say out loud. That insight is not incidental to my work, it is central to it.
Abi Demi, Managing Director
Meet the Team
With over ten years of experience spanning employment law, senior operations and people strategy, Abi brings a rare combination of legal understanding, commercial thinking and hands on people expertise to every client engagement. Her legal background as a solicitor representative, working across court and tribunal proceedings, is what gives Spencer & Trent its edge. She sees the legal and financial risk in people decisions before they become costly problems.
Prior to establishing Spencer & Trent, Abi built her expertise working on contract with organisations including FTSE 100 companies British Land and Landsec, internationally recognised architecture practices and a number of scaling tech businesses across the UK, operating at the centre of senior leadership teams, contributing to executive level restructures and building people functions from the ground up for scaling businesses.
Her work spans talent strategy consulting, recruitment and leadership development, with a particular focus on the people decisions that carry the highest commercial consequence. She works directly with founders and CEOs as a trusted adviser, bringing the kind of senior people expertise that most SMEs and scaling businesses need but rarely have access to.
As a neurodivergent Black woman, Abi brings a perspective that has been largely absent from boardroom conversations about talent. She has sat on both sides of the table and that lived experience is central to the insight and counsel she brings to every client relationship.
Previously, she worked at the Financial Ombudsman Service, where she gained experience handling complex complaints and case management. Victoria holds a Bachelor of Laws from De Montfort University. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling and cooking.
Previously, she worked as an HR Assistant at CBRE, supporting a range of HR and people-related activities. Jennifer holds a BA in Human Resources Management from Regent's University London. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming and cycling.
Talent Strategy, Not Guesswork
Spencer & Trent exists for one reason, to make sure the businesses we work with never pay the legal or financial price of a poor talent decision. We bring the structure, the strategy and the expertise so every people decision you make is one you can stand behind.
