Client Accountant
Spencer & Trent Recruitment is working with a leading accountancy firm seeking a qualified Accountant to join the business on a permanent basis. You will be working from the London office 3 days a week and 2 days from home.
Duties include:
- Overseeing a varied portfolio of clients, acting as their primary point of contact for financial and accounting matters.
- Preparing annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Preparing and file personal and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Conducting occasional bookkeeping tasks when required, ensuring accurate financial records.
- Building and maintain strong client relationships, offering advice and support as needed.
- Utilising accounting software such as Xero and FreeAgent.
- Assist colleagues with technical queries as required.
- Line managing two Assistant Accountants
Experience needed:
- A recognised UK accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience working in an accountancy practice environment.
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients.
- Possess a strong understanding of UK accounting and tax regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing client relationships.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary and Benefits:
- £55,000 – £60,000 DOE
- 28 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
- Performance-based bonus structure

- Monday to Friday 9 am to 5.30 pm – 37.5 hours per week
