Software Developer
Spencer & Trent Recruitment is working with a reputable FinTech company seeking a talented individual to design, implement, and maintain their content management system (CMS) and customer-facing digital products. You will be working from the central London office 1 days a week and 4 days remotely.
Duties include:
- Design and implement systems and software in line with requirements, using appropriate tools and methodologies
- Champion the development of high-quality code through best practices such as test-driven development, pair programming, and code reviews
- Take ownership of the technical delivery across all stages of the software development lifecycle, including testing — ensuring the solution meets required standards for security, performance, and safety
- Proactively suggest enhancements to the codebase, development processes, tooling, and ways of working
- Foster innovation by identifying, evaluating, and adopting emerging technologies
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and testing of robust APIs, ideally following the OpenAPI Specification to support scalable, secure integrations across platforms.
Experience needed:
- Able to demonstrate commercial software development experience.
- Practical experience in system design, development, testing and operational stability.
- Deep knowledge and experience in Python and its ecosystem, patterns and pitfalls.
- Experience writing and consuming RESTful APIs in Python.
- Experience applying continuous delivery, test driven development and pair programming.
- Experience of working in an agile environment and an understanding of Scrum principles in particular.
- Experience with AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch).
Salary and Benefits:
- £60,000 – £65,000 DOE
- 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
- Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week
