Head of Compliance
Spencer & Trent Recruitment is working with a PopTech startup that is looking for an experienced Head of Compliance to join its expanding team based in Liverpool Street on a permanent basis. You will be working from their London office 4 days a week and 1 day from home.
Duties include:
- Ensure the business complies with all relevant regulation
- Provide clear advice and guidance to business areas on a wide range of compliance issues
- Identify, highlight and where appropriate help manage and mitigate any risks present or arising
- Build and lead a high-performing compliance function
- Define and implement the compliance strategy, ensuring Health & Safety remains the foremost operational priority
- Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and incident reviews to strengthen governance, safety, and performance
- Act as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team, providing expert insights, recommendations, and strategic direction
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including HR, Legal, and Operations, to deliver a cohesive approach to compliance
- Engage with senior stakeholders to embed compliance into daily behaviours and culture
- Serve as the principal point of contact for external regulatory bodies, ensuring full preparedness for inspections and investigations
Experience needed:
- Significant experience in a senior compliance leadership role within a tech startup environment
- A proven track record of delivering compliance strategies that work at both operational and strategic level
- The ability to lead change and build a culture of compliance that supports business growth
- Experience leading and developing a high-performing compliance team
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Attention to detail
Salary and Benefits:
- £80,000 – £85,000 DOE
- Discretionary Bonus
